January CC Project - Song Inspired

So for January's DT project, we were required to make a project inspired by a song of our choice.  I decided to utilize this opportunity to create another layout for my SGK scrapbooks.  There are a lot of songs playing while we're walking (as a lot of the traffic and safety volunteers have their radios playing) and in camp to keep us motivated and moving.  One of those songs was actually the one playing while they sent us off from the opening ceremony - Katy Perrys' "Firework".  Here is that page:

The technique I highlighted for this project was using the Slice to dry emboss.  I used the Slice Design Card Summer, which has some fireworks on it.  Here is a closeup of this embossing (it's a little hard to see since it's on a light color paper):

Other products used are: MME Lush in pink, MM glitter clears - flowers bright and flowers red and pink, MM brads - mini silver circle, Mm brads - circle clear crystal, MM vellum oval tag, Melissa Frances vintage transfers - breast cancer rub-ons, OT breast cancer pink ribbon brads, and SU pink passion ink with daubers.  For additional information on how to do this, you can look here, on Crop Chocolate's blog.

Valentine's Day Cards - for sale

For my first fundraiser for the SGK 3-Day this year, I decided to see how well home made cards would sell at work.  I purposely made more than I knew I would sell, and I made them so that they could be used for anniversaries as well.  I also decided to make two different sizes to give some choices.

Here are the 5x7 cards:

I started these cards with using MM Love Struck banner kit, and then added MM Love Note 8x8 paper, MM fresh anthology ribbon - picot daffodil, MM Paperie Rouge - dimensional stickers, MM Love Struck rub-ons, SU label punch, and Mrs. Grossman's Valentine's Day stickers.

I also made 4x6 cards:

For these I started with MM Je t'Adore card set.  To them I added MM metal frame - gold flower - fleur d'or, MM epoxy frame - Autumn Splendor, MM vintage copper metal combo - family, MM metal frame - ornate oval, TH idea-ology - ornate plates, MM vellum tags - stars and hearts, MM ribbon labels - celebrate, SU brads, MM fresh anthology ribbon - picot daffodil, DCWV luxury stack - pearlized and metallic, red organdy sheer ribbon, and MM love struck rub-ons.

Valentine's Day Tag

So CC has started weekly challenges to win some crop credit.  The first one was to create a 3inch x 5inch Valentine's Day Tag.  I went fairly simple, but with a slightly different shape.

For this project, I used: MM love notes 8x8, MM celery ribbon and charm, MM paper reverie metallique gems, red organdy sheer ribbon, and K&Co fresh paint die cut chipboard frame.

Inspiration of the PINK kind

Here's another LO I made for my SGK walk about the opening ceremony.  I was on a roll doing some LO's so I figured I would continue.  This one was inspired by the WeScrap forum challenges (although I didn't finish it in time to submit it - oh well).

For this LO, I used: misc patterned paper, OT breast cancer kit for the alpha (which I altered using espresso alcohol ink), sassafras cs alpha stickers - kelly green glitter, MM 5th avenue alpha, OT breast cancer stamps, SU pink passion ink, OT breast cancer flowers, MM crystal clear gem brads, and MME quite contrary - jack and jill - journal tag.

Just the beginning...

Way back when CC was havng tryouts for the design team, I had started this LO about the early morning happenings at the SGK 3-day.  But at the time I was having some trouble figuring out how to finish it off (like the exact title and journaling to use), so I put it to the side and created the LO about why I walk.  Recently I pulled this double page LO out to try to finish it, and did.  I think it ended up looking pretty cool in the end and expresses what it was like first thing.

I used: MM Dilly Dally paper, MM Chloe's Closet flower stickers, MM water color paper, MM embossed butterflies - antiqued silver, Sassafras cs alpha stickers - kelly green glitter, LYB dimensional flower, Slice card for the leaves (I don't remember which one), circle punches, American Traditional Design - cs alpha stickers, and SU Ballet Blue textured CS.

Teammates LO

So a couple weeks ago I made the hot air balloon treat holder, and it ended up really cute.  But, one part of the "it was supposed to be" story I didn't tell you was that when I was trying to make the heart, I started using 8x8 paper.  However, it was too small to create the look I wanted, so I had to switch to 12x12 paper.  Well, then I had these triangular pieces of pink paper, and of course I didn't want them to go to waste...LOL!!  So I made a LO using them for my SGK scrapbook!!!

For this one, I decided to create a starburst/sunshine kind of look, and the best picture I found to use was of our team!!!  Without a team, I don't think these walks would be possible and certainly wouldn't be as enjoyable!!!

For this LO, I used:  MM hullabaloo tags, SU cardstock, MM love notes 8x8, misc patterned paper for strips at bottom, OT breast cancer ribbon, MM paperie greenhouse shimmer alphas, MM watercolor brite snaps, and a journaling tag.

Other miscellaneous projects

Some other things I was working on late last year include things for holidays, like Thanksgiving place cards and Christmas presents for my kids teachers.

Here are the place cards - I used my Slice to cut out the leaves in different sizes and shapes.  Then I layered the leaves, and added ribbon to tie it together and added the names.

Then I made some simple ornaments for my DS's teachers by making some rosettes, adding ribbon hangers and adding a sentiment to them.

I also decorated some plain white gift bags for the teachers.  I stamped the Merry Christmas and snowflakes, and then used a sponge to create the "frame" on two of them.

Here's a close up of the sponged one.  This one I colored in the Merry Christmas with colored pencils.
